One of the best ways to engage young people is by giving them power to make decisions about how to transform their spaces. Murals with teenagers are an opportunity to explore collective identity, community values, overcoming struggle and positive self representation. I encourage students to find inspiration from the past & the present, from nature, textiles, literature and eachother. Murals are built in layers, so its an incredible process demanding dedication, planning & follow through. Teens love it!
